While I would agree with the general principle that Zwift made the revised level system too easy, they have completely botched this revision of the revision. In the same way as there was talk of the UCI retrospectively banning aero helmets that had already met their guidelines, Zwift can’t just roll back their own level structure without pissing many people off. By the way, if levels don’t motivate you look away now. There are however plenty of Zwifters who are motivated by this going by the backlash.
If they do implement this mess, they need to increase the accelerated XP for those who were stuck on level 50 for years. For example I had already earned double the amount of XP required to reach level 100 when the 60-100 expansion released. By all means encourage long-term zwifters to keep coming back to earn the new levels. But don’t move the goalposts without taking that historical XP into account when calculating the new accelerator – that hasn’t been mentioned anywhere.
